SlideDeck can be manipulated and styled with standard HTML and CSS. We understand that not everyone is comfortable with coding. This video will guide you through the process of using FireBug to really accelerate the customization process.

We will be releasing more videos that detail how to customize and debug your SlideDeck with the aide of the FireBug plugin for WordPress soon. Check Back!

The wp_head() and wp_footer() functions are important parts of any WordPress theme, but some theme authors neglect to include one or both of these functions.

For SlideDeck (and many other plugins) to work correctly these functions must be present in your theme’s header.php and footer.php files. This screencast shows you how to troubleshoot and repair this issue.

One interesting thing to note is that it’s possible for a basic, custom WordPress theme to work without a wp_head() and wp_footer() function. If your theme doesn’t have these, it’s not broken but it is incomplete.

If you’re having issues where jQuery is being loaded more than once, check out this screencast on double jQuery.

SlideDeck for WordPress has a lot of options to choose from. In this video I am going to walk you through the options available to you in a regular SlideDeck built with the WordPress plugin. I will be detailing out what each option does, and giving examples for a few. Some of the options shown are only available to our PRO users, so if you see something that you cannot do with the LITE version, you will need to upgrade to PRO.

Now that you are familiar with the options for a regular SlideDeck for WordPress, head over to view a walk-through of the Smart SlideDeck for WordPress options.

Installing WordPress plugins is a fairly simple process, but can cause all sorts of frustration if done incorrectly. In this video I walk you through the installation of the SlideDeck for WordPress plugin via the WordPress admin interface.

After you have successfully installed your plugin, view this walk-through of the SlideDeck for WordPress options.

SlideDeck has a lot of options that we’ve included, giving you the power to customize your deck. In this video I walk you through the correct way to format these options and the effects that some of these options have on your deck. My colleague Dairien has created some examples that use some of these customization options, and I’ve posted in the past about setting up your first SlideDeck.
Note that this example video applies to SlideDeck for jQuery and not SlideDeck for WordPress.

I don’t go over any of the advanced options as they can be tricky to grasp and are better suited to an example file. In the future we’ll be distributing SlideDeck with more examples and these will showcase some of the more powerful options.
