How-To Video: Get the most out of the new Reporter Lens

Here’s a short and simple video that Jamie created showcasing some of the features of the Reporter lens in SlideDeck 2. He takes you through some of the lens specific options and the reasons behind them. He chats a bit about the transparent background feature of the lens, the dynamic reformatting, and the way it handles images. We hope you enjoy this video and find it useful.

I have a dark Blue Background on my site and Can I adjust the color to match it?

    I like what I see…

Hi Jim! I assume you’re referring to the wood-textured background in the video – that’s actually just something that only applies to the live preview in your WordPress admin area. Once you publish your SlideDeck, it’ll be placed against whatever background texture your page currently has.

I recently purchased slidedeck2. I would like to try out the Reporters Lens. when I go to option and choose “Lens” there are 7 different lens’, but the reporters lens is not there. How do I add it to the lens?

      Hi Jonathan

Thanks for picking up a copy! =) The Reporter Lens is only for use with dynamic content sources. Are you trying to create a custom content SlideDeck? If not, post a ticket in our support forum, and we’ll get you sorted out –

Reporter Lens only available with dynamic content? I upgraded to professional to use it with my own content. :-\ Am I doing it wrong? Are you doing it wrong? 🙂

      Hey Clay

You’re not doing it wrong – then again, I don’t think we are either =) The Reporter Lens uses a pretty unique layout for the slide content, which necessitates it being standardized across all slides (i.e. Dynamic-only) for now. If it’s requested enough, we could look at expanding the functionality of this particular Lens.
