If not that big, maybe a small social network for friends or businesses. And if you think that requires a lot of coding or technical skills, then you are wrong. With UserPro, you can easily setup your social network on WordPress. With UserPro’s addon “Social Wall” you can add a wall on your site so that all the members can interact with each other.
In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to create your own social network on WordPress.
Note: You need the latest version of UserPro (or minimum version 2.15) & Social Wall Addon for UserPro to create your social networking site.
Creating a social network on WordPress
STEP ONE: – Installation
You will first need to install and activate the UserPro Plugin, and it’s Social Wall Addon.
STEP TWO: – Setup
Before you can begin, you’ll need to authenticate SocialWall License. Navigate to the SocialWall menu and select the Licensing tab. Here you need to enter your Envato Purchase Code.
STEP THREE: – Create Social Wall
Once you activated the addon, create a page/post say – “Social Wall” with the shortcode –
STEP FOUR: – Settings
Now comes the settings part for your Social Wall. Go to WordPress Dashboard » UserPro » SocialWall
Userwall Tab – Specify the Title for your Social Wall, Number of Posts to be displayed on the page and make other settings as per your requirement.
Report Tab – Allow users to report the post as objectionable.
Delete Social Wall Posts and Comments Tab – This option allows admin to bulk delete the posts and comments by filtering the post dates.
Email Notification Tab – Admin can enable email notifications on certain actions and also can change the email templates for the same.
- Send email notification when user comments on a post
- Send email notification to the author when user likes or dislikes the post
- Send email notification to the author when user likes or dislikes the comment
Once you are done with all the settings, Click Save Settings button.
