Here’s a short and simple video that Jamie created showcasing some of the features of the Reporter lens in SlideDeck 2. He takes you through some of the lens specific options and the reasons behind them. He chats a bit about the transparent background feature of the lens, the dynamic reformatting, and the way it handles images. We hope you enjoy this video and find it useful.

The wp_head() and wp_footer() functions are important parts of any WordPress theme, but some theme authors neglect to include one or both of these functions.

For SlideDeck (and many other plugins) to work correctly these functions must be present in your theme’s header.php and footer.php files. This screencast shows you how to troubleshoot and repair this issue.

One interesting thing to note is that it’s possible for a basic, custom WordPress theme to work without a wp_head() and wp_footer() function. If your theme doesn’t have these, it’s not broken but it is incomplete.
